Derek J. Sublette

Derek Sublette concentrates his practice in the areas of:

Derek received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University-Bloomington and his Law Degree and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in policy analysis from Indiana University-Indianapolis. While pursuing his graduate degrees, Derek was chosen to serve as a graduate assistant for the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment where he analyzed real world policy related issues.

Prior to joining Clark Quinn, Derek served as a Government Affairs consultant representing the interests of various Fortune 500 companies and governmental entities before the Indiana General Assembly. Derek also served as the Legislative Director for Lt. Governor Kathy Davis where he represented the interests of the Lt. Governor’s office before the Indiana General Assembly and further served as the Lt. Governor’s liaison to several state agencies including the Department of Commerce, the Port Commission, the Department of Labor and the Indiana Finance Authority.

Derek also has extensive experience working for local governments. First, as a Senior Project Manager for the Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development, Derek worked on issues related to business attraction and expansion such as tax abatement, tax increment financing and brownfield redevelopment. Later, Derek served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Kokomo where he represented the legal interests of the Mayor, the Police Department, Redevelopment Commission, Wastewater Utility and the Board of Public Works and Safety.

Derek was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Joe Kernan for his dedicated service to the State of Indiana.
