Robert B. Scott

Robert Scott concentrates his practice in the areas of:

Robert provides business legal and advisory services to private sector businesses and public utilities throughout Indiana, including entity creation and analysis, debt and equity financings, intellectual property analysis and protection and general corporate and real estate transactional representation, including mergers and acquisitions. His business practice includes representation of entities in a broad spectrum of industries, including among others, technology and software development, real estate development, manufacturing, advertising, food service, restaurant, waste disposal, public utility and health care industries. His practice with both regulated and unregulated utilities includes representation before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission and various state, county and municipal boards and agencies.

Robert is a former Chair of the Indiana State Bar Association, Water and Wastewater Division of the Utility Law Section, and former Executive Director of the Indiana Association of Sewer Companies. Robert has been in private practice in Indiana since 1988. He is a native of Anderson, Indiana, and holds a B.S. degree in business from Indiana University, Bloomington, and obtained his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Robert has been an author, presenter and lecturer before professional, industry and business organizations on topics including corporate organization, choice of legal entity, director and officer liability, utility territorial disputes, and current trends affecting water and wastewater utilities in Indiana. Robert is on the board of the Washington Township School Foundation and was Board Chair for the Marion County Commission on Youth. He has been involved in numerous other non-profit organizations and industry associations, including the Christamore House, Alpha-Omicron Education Foundation, Entrepreneurs Alliance, Indian Venture Club, and the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water. Robert also volunteers his time to the Boy Scouts of America.
